The "Pinoy" Breakfast

Breakfast is very important for us. Specially for Filipinos.
Common Filipino mindset is that if they're "on a diet" they will eat less. Breakfast takes a bit hit on this one since it's our first meal.
Filipinos tend to swap their typical "Silog" breakfast with just the classic Pandesal and Coffee. All because, they are "on a diet". But did you know that you are not really helping your body to manage your weight this way. You're probably just doing the same, or in some scenarios, making it even worse.
Even those small things that we thought are harmless still have calories. This classic "on a diet" breakfast is still a huge chunk of your daily caloric limit. And what do you get from it? One typical pandesal has approximately 100cal and a cup of 3-in-1 coffee has about 100cal. If you're "JUST" having 3 pandesal and 1 cup of coffee in the morning, that's easily 400cal. And with that 400cal, you get just mostly CARBS and SUGAR. Let me ask you, are you really "on a diet"? We call this empty calories. You're taking in roughly about 20-30% of your caloric limit per day without really providing your body with significant nutrients. You take a huge chunk of your daily calorie intake without much in return. Na-busog ka ba? Na-satisfy ka ba? You already deprived yourself with the breakfast that you really want, yet still, you're not actually helping yourself in the process.
